[column grid=”2″ span=”1″]By 1937 Chrysler had transitional styling of the period “Potato School” carrying barrel grilles, rounder fenders and rod-type head lights. Ornate dashboards grouped gauges in front of the driver. Chrysler’s adventure into “adventurous styling” in 1934 did not actually hurt the company in sales position as most people believed. The company in 1933 was 8th in sales production, the Airflow design sales position fell to 10th and by 1938 their total sales position rose to ninth. Not until 1955 would Chrysler again ascend in industry design leadership.
