The Packard Single Six introduced in 1922 was a successful economical alternative to the Twin Six. Packard boasted about the co-operative economy of the Single Six’s 20 miles per gallon and 20,000 miles on a set of tires. Between Models 426 and 433 total production was 25,335. The big brother Straight Eights sold 4,486 cars in 1927.
Packard led the luxury car field in 1927 with 29,821 being produced. Cadillac produced 8,559, Lincoln 7,149, Pierce-Arrow 4,500, Peerless 3,900 estimated, Stutz 2,900 and Imperial an estimated 3,400.
